چکیده

It is suggested that Haemophilus paragallinarum requires at least three haemagglutinins for adhesion during infection. This paper reports the partial purification and characterization of the HA-L haemagglutinin from H. paragallinarum strain 46-C3, a heat sensitive, trypsin sensitive haemagglutinin that has been shown to be the serovar specific haemagglutinin in this organism. Using the pl and molecular mass obtained, it was shown that this protein shares similarities with other types of adhesins found in Gram-negative bacteria. The haemagglutination assay conditions were optimized at pH 7.5 at 37 degrees C. It was also shown that activity is enhanced by the addition of Ca2+ and Mn2+ ions.

Retrospective Detection of Avibacterium Paragallinarum Serovar B in Egg Yolk Materials by PCR

Avibacterium paragallinarum is Gram-negative bacteria that cause infectious coryza (IC), an acute respiratory disease of chickens. Despite vaccination of Layer and breeder farms of Iran against IC, they are still experiencing the disease clinically and there is no knowledge of serotypes prevalence of this bacterium in this country. This study designed to determine serovar identity by molecular ...

Proposal of a new serovar and altered nomenclature for Haemophilus paragallinarum in the Kume hemagglutinin scheme.

By using the Kume hemagglutinin serotyping scheme, 13 Australian isolates of Haemophilus paragallinarum were shown to constitute a new serovar within the presently termed serogroup II. Because of the likelihood that new serovars will continue to be established, we propose a rationalization of the nomenclature of the Kume scheme. Under this altered scheme, the three recognized serogroups I, II, ...

The testing and modification of a commercially available transport medium for the transportation of pure cultures of Haemophilus paragallinarum for serotyping.

Haemophilus paragallinarum, the causative agent of infectious coryza in poultry, is an extremely fastidious organism requiring specific growth conditions for isolation. For complete control of the disease in regions where more that one of the serovars of the different serogroups occurs, it is essential that the bacterium causing the problem be isolated and serotyped. This work describes the mod...

16S ribosomal RNA sequencing and molecular serotyping of Avibacterium paragallinarum isolated from Indian field conditions

AIM This study was aimed at identifying Indian field isolates of Avibacterium paragallinarum on both molecular as well as serological levels that cause infectious coryza in chickens. MATERIALS AND METHODS Species-specific polymerase chain reaction (HPG-2 PCR), and 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequencing were employed for molecular identification. Whereas, multiplex PCR technique was used for sero...
